A New Friend at the Phantom Ranch!

My trip to the Grand Canyon included two nights camping at the Phantom Ranch, one of those places every adventurous person wants to eventually visit. I enjoyed a couple of great breakfasts and a superb steak dinner and met the manager, a life-long backcountry professional named Joanie Badley. Joanie and I spent lots of time comparing notes on the Phantom Ranch and the Len Foote Hike Inn, the backcountry lodge in the North Georgia mountains where I serve as board president. I hope she will come visit someday, because I sure enjoyed being at her place. More on the GC in future posts.
